The path of the just – Prov 4:18 – this path gets brighter and brighter as we get closer to the perfect day, the day of Jesus’ return. No doubt we need light to keep from stumbling in this terribly dark world. Prov 4:18 says, “the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” We’re going to look at those things that provide a shining light for us as we go through life. It’s the ones who run to do what they can to help others in that tragedy that is the story we need to celebrate. It’s not the tragedy that should ever be our focus. There’s never any news of good things (light) happening. It’s not always true that light overpowers darkness, just watch the 24-hour news cycle. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.īut without doubt Isaiah’s prophecy was a poem, was it not? See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you. “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. I know Jesus calls us the light of the world, but was he just waxing poetic? The darker the night gets, the brighter the light gets.
